Surveillance released of man targeting food cart vendors

NEW YORK

The suspect is targeting cart vendors who work the very early hours of the morning.

Authorities have obtained surveillance of the suspect, who is described as a 20- to 25-year-old white or Hispanic man, approximately 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall and weighing between 150 and 170 pounds.

He has struck at least nine times, according to police, robbing eight food carts and one livery cab driver over the past two weeks. In each case, the man points a gun at the victim and demands money.

The most recent incident happened early Saturday on Queens Boulevard near the Queens Center Mall. In a matter of six minutes, police say the suspect robbed at least four people.

Anyone with information in regards to any of these robberies is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
