Girl, 11, victim of forcible touching in Gramercy Park

NEW YORK

His face is distinctive. His size too should be unmistakable.

"He's a heavy set individual. Perhaps as much as 400 pounds," NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly said.

He was captured in security camera video after police say he forcibly touched a young 11-year-old girl at the Dunkin Donuts on the corner of First and East 21st in Gramercy Park.

The man approached her inside the store, police said.

"Grabbed her and touched her inappropriately," Kelly said.

He then moved quickly out of the store as seen in the video.

I showed his picture around the neighborhood, but no one seemed to recognize him.

Police officers who stake out the neighborhood and Guardian Angels who patrol the sidewalks do hope they spot him.

They think his distinctive features should be recognizable. His picture is on many store front windows in the area.

The suspect is a heavyset man with short gray hair between 50 and 60 years old.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
