Police in New Jersey are hoping to ease a community's concerns after a recent increase in crime.

In the last week, two people were murdered and a church worker was assaulted in the Essex County town of Maplewood.

In the case of the murders, Dwayne Flourney is now charged with stabbing his father and grandmother to death.

On the same day he was arrested, a woman working at St. Joseph's Church was beaten by a man trying to rob the rectory.
