Police say 49-year-old Esran Boothe touched a female student in the buttocks on March 16th.
Boothe is a fitness teacher at Base High School in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn.
The suspect is charged with forcible touching and 3rd degree sex abuse.
Chancellor Walcott released the following statement:
"We have been crystal clear about the consequences for this kind of behavior. A staff member who violates the trust of our students and families does not deserve to work in our schools—period. Anyone who does will be removed and we will do everything in our power to make sure they never work here again."
