The Rev. Seth Kaper-Dale of The Reformed Church of Highland Park says Ferdy Warou was sent back to Indonesia on Monday.
Kaper-Dale has been advocating on behalf of Warou and a wider group of Indonesian Christian immigrants in three states.
They had been legal in the U.S. for years under a special agreement, but several now face deportation.
Church officials have been lobbying federal lawmakers to allow the Indonesians to stay.
Kaper-Dales says Warou faces religious persecution back home.
A spokesman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement says the agency has exercised prosecutorial discretion in the Indonesian cases and each one is being decided individually.
