Jimmy Kimmel to host Prime Time Emmys

NEW YORK This will be Kimmel's first time hosting the Primetime Emmy telecast. Renowned director-producer Don Mischer will serve as executive producer for a record 12th time. The 64th Primetime Emmy® Awards will be held at NOKIA Theatre LA LIVE in downtown Los Angeles.

"We are thrilled to have been asked to produce the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards," says Mischer. "We love television and look forward to working with the Television Academy and ABC in creating a show that is fast-paced, humorous, unpredictable, and at times irreverent, but clearly celebratory of our incredible industry."

Jimmy Kimmel is the host and executive producer of the late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live for the ABC Television Network, which is currently in its tenth season.

JKL is packed with hilarious comedy bits and features a diverse lineup of guests, including celebrities, athletes, musicians, comedians and humorous human-interest subjects. JKL's YouTube channel recently surpassed a half-billion views, becoming the world's first late-night television show (and only the third U.S. show of any time) to break the half-billion mark. Additionally, Kimmel's show just generated its most watched February sweeps in five years.

Kimmel, who is also set to host the upcoming White House Correspondents Dinner in April, has previously hosted the American Music Awards and ESPY Awards. In addition, Kimmel co-hosted Comedy Central's The Man Show, served for four seasons as on-air prognosticator for Fox NFL Sunday, and co-hosted Comedy Central's long-running and popular game show, Win Ben Stein's Money, for which he received an Emmy for Best Game Show Host.

Don Mischer is an internationally acclaimed producer and director of television and live events. He has been honored with fifteen Emmy Awards, a record ten Directors Guild of America Awards for Outstanding Directorial Achievement, two NAACP Image Awards, a Peabody Award for excellence in broadcasting, Europe's prestigious Golden Rose of Montreux and is the recipient of the 2012 Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television from the Producers Guild of America.

As a producer/director, his credits range from We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial, The 84th Annual Academy Awards, The Kennedy Center Honors and the 100th Anniversary of Carnegie Hall; to the Super Bowl Halftime Shows (Prince, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen), the Democratic National Convention, events celebrating Hong Kong's re-unification with China, and the opening ceremonies of both the Winter and Summer Olympic Games.

Mischer has also produced specials with Beyonce, Bono, Jennifer Hudson, Rihanna, Britney Spears, James Taylor, Taylor Swift, Stevie Wonder, Sting, Garth Brooks, Mary J. Blige, Elton John, Justin Timberlake, Barbra Streisand, The Black Eyed Peas and Carrie Underwood, among others.

He has received the Governors Award from the National Association of Choreographers and is a member of the Event Industry Hall of Fame, the Producers Guild of America, the Directors Guild of America and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, for which he has served two terms as governor.

The 64th Primetime Emmys Awards will be produced by Don Mischer Productions.
