Authorities are investigating the death of an 89-year-old man found brutally murdered inside his home in Queens.

He lived the perfect immigrant success story. That is, until he became the latest victim of deadly violence.

Monday night, the neighborhood in Corona mourns a popular elderly man.

Detectives canvassed the neighborhood trying to find the cold blooded coward who killed a beloved 89-year-old neighbor, friend, and father.

Demaso Llano was found inside his Queens home on 43rd Avenue early Monday morning by his housekeeper.

Neighbors came running when they heard her chilling screams.

Police confirm someone tied his hand with plastic handcuffs, and then beat him in the face.

There were no signs of break-in.

It's not clear if any valuables were even taken, only the priceless life of a good and decent man.

Llano escaped Cuba in the 60's, built up a successful neighborhood marketplace, and was trying to enjoy his golden years in peace, when a killer walked through his door.

The medical examiner must determine the exact cause of death.
