Suffolk County to add more red-light cameras

March 29, 2012 6:05:16 AM PDT
Suffolk County officials plan on doubling the number of red light cameras at intersections.

The move is designed to add revenue for the county.

Lawmakers hope the additional cameras, as well as a plan to process its own traffic tickets, will add $20 million a year.

Right now, the tickets are handled by the state, which keeps some of the fine money.
