Man charged in roommate dismemberment

NEW YORK

Body parts were found in a clothing donation bin and then inside the building on Nostrand Avenue in /*Sheepshead Bay*/.

Evidence was removed from the fourth-floor apartment Wednesday as details continue to emerge about the grisly case. Sources say the two roommates never got along, and their differences came to a head with a fistfight during a wild party on March 25.

Authorities say that after the fight was over, the victor dismembered his victim and put the body parts in containers of bleach. Police say they also found body parts in the refrigerator, including rib bones.

One investigator said there was so much material and body parts inside the fridge that you couldn't stuff an egg inside of it.

The suspect has been identified as 49-year-old Sergey Mamontov, who authorities say went into a rage after coming home to find the party. He allegedly kicked out the partiers, killed 55-year-old Aleksandr Zilbergleyt in the fight and then tried to dispose of the body.

Authorities say no one knew what happened until a friend of the victim came to apartment to check on his friend on Tuesday. Mamontov reportedly told that visitor that his roommate was gone for good.

Mamontov was charged with murder.

One investigator says he has never seen anything like this.
