Helicopters drop thousands of Easter eggs for local kids

HOUSTON

Powerhouse Church in Katy held an Easter egg drop Saturday. The helicopter let hundreds of eggs fly and the children raced to collect them.

After the egg hunt, kids and their parents ate barbecue and cotton candy.

The church also provided face painting and an inflatable obstacle course for children.

On Sunday, 7,000 Easter eggs fell from a chopper in Spring at what organizers said is Montgomery County's largest egg drop.

Pastor Matt Woodfill of The Way Church got on board the helicopter and unloaded bags of eggs outside the church.

Excited children ran to collect the eggs for their Easter baskets.
