Man killed in Queens liquor store shooting

NEW YORK

Police say the man was making a purchase in the store in Astoria when he was shot at around 7:15 p.m.

The 37 year old was shot in the head and torso.

He was transported to Astoria General Hospital, where he later died.

Authorities say there are indications it was a pre-meditated murder.

"I doubt very much it was random," said Queens District Attorney Richard Brown. "Apparently the shooting was pre-arranged in one respect or another. That is to say whoever did it came up and knew what he was doing."

So far there are no suspects in custody.
