Six injured in Bergen County deck collapse

WESTWOOD, N.J.

It happened during an Easter dinner in Westwood.

A group of people were on the deck when a family member heard it cracking and began moving everyone inside.

One relative says the structure then gave way with several people still on it.

"I was coming to my mom's for Easter dinner," said Anthony Foss. "As I was approaching up the road, I see a bunch of lights coming, cops, ambulances and everything. All of a sudden I get up here and I see the deck on the ground and people being rushed to the hospital."

Foss said most of the injuries were bumps and bruises, but added the grandmother of the baby may have suffered a broken ankle.

He says the group is lucky nobody was underneath the deck at the time.
