A deer led police on a wild chase in New Jersey on Thursday.

It happened in Bayonne and forced police to pull out their tranquilizer guns.

Newscopter 7 followed police as they chased down the deer as it jumped from yard to yard.

The frightened deer even hid under people's decks.

Officers were able to tranquilize it and then they moved it to its natural habitat.

Residents say it's unusual to see a deer in such a densely populated area.
