Regents board looking at pathway to graduation

The New York State Board of Regents is squabbling over what students really need to graduate from high school.

Some members of the board are calling for two new pathways to graduation.

One is focused on science and math, while the other focuses on career and technology education.

The change could eliminate a mandatory course on global history.

Some board members worry the plan would just dumb down the curriculum in a complex world.
