A bakery deliveryman has been arrested and charged with secretly taking an inappropriate photo of a 15-year-old girl while she was shopping in a city store, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and Anthony A. Caputo, director of the New Brunswick Police Department.

Harold Williams of Eastampton was arrested and charged on April 20, 2012, with endangering the welfare of the child and invasion of privacy. Williams followed the 15-year-old girl into the store, held a cell phone under her skirt, and photographed her.

The investigation further showed that Williams, a deliveryman for The Classic Dessert Co. of Eastampton, regularly visited New Brunswick to deliver baked goods to restaurants in the city.

Williams retired in 2008 as a corrections officer at Mid-State Correctional Facility. He is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick in lieu of $75,000 bail.

Williams was arrested after a security guard at the store on George Street in New Brunswick called police. Store officials held Williams until police arrived.

Police determined that the defendant may have committed other similar acts. Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Andreea Capraru of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office at (732) 745-3600, or Detective Coleman of the New Brunswick Police Department at (732) 745-5222.
