Suffolk County Police officers and a Good Samaritan helped revive a 10-year-old girl who was unconscious in Mastic on Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were called to 46 Abbott Avenue, where Shawn Mitchell, of Ridge, was performing CPR on Alana Kiceina.

Upon arrival, Officer Maureen Bourguignon was able to restore Kiceina's pulse by using a defibrillator.

Manorville Community Ambulance continued treatment to Kiceina and transported her to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue.

Kiceina was later transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center, where she is listed in critical condition but is breathing on her own. She is expected to survive.

The police investigation is closed and considered non-criminal. It is not yet determined what caused Kiceina to lose consciousness.
