Street renamed for NYPD detective

An honor for a popular NYPD detective who died from 9/11-related lung disease.

A ceremony was held Sunday to rename the corner of 59th Road and 60th Street in Maspeth Queens, for Detective Kevin Czartoryski.

He worked for the NYPD's public information office.

Czartoryski died in 2010 after battling lung disease linked to his work at Ground Zero.

He was just 46 years old.

He was also known for his work as the department's liason to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities.
