The approximately 200 students at Noor-Ul-Iman were whisked outside, and evacuated after a 7 year old boy suddenly fell ill. He was the first of 3 kids who eventually had symptoms.
"They complained about stomach and turned blue," said Sgt. Jim Ryan with the South Brunswick Police.
Middlesex County hazmat crews, police, and ambulances arrived and by that time, the problem was worse.
The students and teachers who got sick, were all from the same classroom but hazmat was not able to find any hazards there or anywhere else inside the school.
Still, they closed for the day, and parents were called..
Ryan says the school has hired an air quality company to check the building and it's not known whether there will be classes on Friday.
The school's website says its mission is to "provide an excellent academic and Islamic education" to students.
