According to investigators, the 58-year-old woman driving the M15 bus northbound on 1st Avenue was punched in the face by the suspect.
The assailant got off the bus at East 102nd and took off, police said.
The victim was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries to her face.
The suspect is described as being a man in his 40's, 5'9", medium build with salt and pepper hair.
