Police hope a surveillance photo will help them catch a subway robber.

Investigators say a man with a gun approached a 65 year old woman early Thursday morning at the subway station at Baychester and Tillotson Avenues in the Bronx and demanded money.

He then hit her in the head with the weapon and ran away with her pocketbook.

The woman was treated and released for a head injury at Saint Barnabas Hospital.

The suspect is described as a man in his 30s, 5'6" tall, weighing 200-240 pounds wearing a baseball hat with a gold sticker on the visor, a brown hooded sweatshirt, brown pants and sneakers.

Anyone with information in regards to this robbery is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. You can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or texting tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
