Norwalk man accused of stabbing girlfriend's dog

NORWALK, Conn.

The Hour of Norwalk reports (http://bit.ly/J3udJ6 ) that Vamond Elmore told police the dog attacked him at his home Sunday night and he was forced to defend himself. The dog suffered a 1-inch gash above its left hind leg, but is expected to be OK.

Police allege Elmore stabbed the dog in a fit of rage because it wouldn't stop barking as he argued with his father, who was upset when he came home to find a large crowd gathered to watch a boxing match on television.

Elmore was held on $100,000 bail and is to be arraigned Monday in Norwalk Superior Court. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.
