The crash happened around 2:30 Saturday afternoon at Seventh Avenue and 92nd Street in the Dyker Heights section.
Police say the man crashed into the bus and then into a utility pole, knocking the pole down.
A 3-year old child in the backseat of the SUV was not hurt.
There were several people on the bus at the time of the crash, but no one was injured.
