The Hartford Courant and The Register Citizen report that police union President Andrew Matthews criticized the leadership in a memo recently to the union's 1,026 members.
They say Bradford and Stebbins, who were appointed by Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, have failed to address the lack of proper staffing levels and failed to preserve the duties and responsibilities of the state police.
He said they also have treated union members differently from other staff, have established unreasonable discipline practices and hide their agenda.
Roy Ochiogrosso (oh-kee-oh-GROH'-soh), the governor's senior adviser, said Saturday that Malloy fully supports Bradford and Stebbins.
