Google's New York headquarters to aid Cornell campus

NEW YORK

Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced Monday that the company will put aside 22,000 square feet of office space for the new /*CornellNYC*/ Tech program starting this July.

/*Google*/ won't be charging the school for the space.

The free rent arrangement will last up to 5½ years, or until the school's permanent home on Roosevelt Island is completed, whichever comes first.

The school will have the option to expand into a total of 58,000 square feet in Google's headquarters.
