Some residents in the /*West Village*/ would like at least one /*doo wop*/ group, called Spank, to sing somewhere else. The reason: they don't like the music.
Some neighbors say they are sick of singing that goes on for hours on weekends. They say the same songs are heard over and over, and there's no way to turn it off.
The restaurants here also have complained to police and doo wop was "the big issue" at the last community meeting.
Group members say Spank has been together for 24 years. They say they are good and they have every right to be out here. They also claim another group called Select Blendz performs every weekend.
I called that band and they said they didn't know anyone was upset. They just want harmony.
