Pit bulls abandoned in Woodbridge Township

PORT READING

The incident was captured on surveillance video on June 5, 2012 between 730 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Markley Road in Port Reading.

Officials said two vehicles appear to be involved in the incident. The first vehicle was a late model white pickup truck with a white cap that appears to be similar to a Ford. The other appears to be an early model white two-door door sedan with tinted windows and a hatchback. A man, who appears to be walking with a limp, was seen removing four pit bulls from the back of the pickup truck into a business parking lot. The vehicles drive off without the dogs.

Residents contacted animal control after the dogs were spotted roaming the area.

The Woodbridge Animal Control Officer was able to catch all of four dogs.

Three dogs were in good condition, but one had a fractured spine and hip.

All of the dogs were placed in the Woodbridge Animal Shelter.

The NJSPCA posted 2 of the surveillance videos on its Facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/njspca.
