Victim killed in Father's Day shootings identified

NEW YORK

Authorities say 25-year-old Daniel Davis, of the Bronx, was among six people shot within blocks of each other Saturday night.

Police say he was shot 23 times while at a Father's Day celebration in East New York.

Sources say the party grew so large the NYPD brought in helicopters to make sure they covered the scene.

"It's sad," witness Roberta Williams said. "You can't even enjoy yourself out here no more. People are going crazy."

Five other people were shot in three other shootings in Brownsville.

They are being treated at a local hospital.

Police are still trying to determine whether the shootings are related.
