8th grader blinded in 1 eye by bullies, family says

BROOKLYN

Fourteen-year-old Kardin Ulysse said Tuesday that he can't see out of his right eye - and he wants to see.

The teen appeared briefly at a news conference at the office of his attorney, Sanford Rubenstein.

Kardin's parents say he has undergone two surgeries and needs a transplant following a June 5 beating at Roy H. Mann Junior High School.

One 7th-grader allegedly pinned the victim's arms while another punched his face, head and neck.

The Department of Education says the incident was taken "very seriously" by the principal, who notified police.

The alleged assailants face disciplinary action in addition to the criminal prosecution.
