Woman caught in crossfire, shot in buttocks

Police are looking at surveillance video after a woman was caught in a crossfire on a Bronx street Thursday afternoon.

The woman was walking with a shopping cart on Harrison Avenue in the Tremont section around 12:30 p.m. when a gunman fired shots at two young men.

An eyewitness said the woman lay on the sidewalk, repeatedly saying "I don't want to die."

The woman, in her 40s or 50s, was struck in the backside. She was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital and is expected to survive.

Police spent the afternoon gathering evidence.

No arrests have been made.
