Two men are safe on the ground after their cargo crane cabs collided 50 feet above a container ship pier in New Jersey.

Port Authority Police spokesman Al Della Fave says the straddle cranes were moving containers at the Maher Terminal at Port Elizabeth when the accident occurred around 8 a.m. Friday.

The cabs sustained heavy damage.

Della Fave says the agency's emergency services unit used an Elizabeth Fire Department aerial truck to rescue the operators by 9:10 a.m.

Della Fave says one refused medical treatment and the other was taken to a hospital complaining of back pain.
