Aakash Dalal, 20, appeared in court on Friday to face charges of conspiring to kill assistant prosecutor Martin Delaney.

Investigators say Dalal is a would-be assassin, determined to seek revenge for his arrest by murdering the prosecutor assigned to his case.

Dalal was expected to be released on bail this week before he allegedly confided the plot to a fellow inmate at the Bergen County jail. Investigators say a search of his cell allegedly turned-up an "enemies list" that included the name of county prosecutor, John Molinelli.

He is accused of conspiring to kill assistant prosecutor Martin Delaney, who is prosecuting Dalal's arrest for the synagogue attacks earlier this year.

Firebombings damaged a synagogue in Paramus and nearly killed a rabbi and his family in rutherford, earlier this year.

Anthony Graziano was charged with carrying-out the attacks. Dalal is charged with conspiracy for allegedly encouraging him.

Dalal and his family are immigrants from India and refused to discuss the allegations, but his defense attorney insists Dalal is innocent and that this latest arrest was set-up.
