Representatives of the North Shore Animal League and National Mill Dog Rescue arrived Sunday morning at the El Paso County Disaster Recovery Center.
They are providing emergency relief to those who have been evacuated from their homes in Colorado Springs, by offering temporary shelter for displaced animals.
A 45-foot self contained rescue unit is being used to provide a safe and secure home away from home for pets.
The rescue team will also offer supplies to all evacuees such as dog and cat food and cat litter.
The Mobile Rescue Unit along with Rescue Team members will remain at the El Paso Disaster Recovery Center as long as they are needed.
