Cops: Body found in Medford burning car had been shot

Police on Long Island say a man who was found dead in a burning car had died from a gunshot wound.

Suffolk County police on Monday identified the victim as 40-year-old Felix Roberto Hidalgo Jacquez, of Brooklyn.

Police had responded to a 911 call reporting a car on fire in a parking lot in Medford at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

They searched the vehicle and found the man's body.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.
