A program in Connecticut is taking to the streets to make sure children aren't going hungry.

The food truck in New Haven is handing out free food.

The program, which started last year, is geared towards the three out of four students in New Haven schools who qualify for free or reduced-price lunches.

The truck is also health conscious, offering reduced-sugar cereals, fresh fruits and salads.

The truck makes 10 stops every weekday for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Officials say they expect to give away up to 1,000 meals a day.

The program is paid for with federal funds.
