Injuries reported after car crashes into Dunkin Donuts

A car crashed into a Dunkin Donuts injuring customers in the store, according to witnesses.

The accident happened at the Dunkin Donuts on Sunrise Highway in Valley Stream.

Police say 5 people have been injured, only one in serious condition.

An elderly driver and his wife were pulling into a handicapped spot at the Dunkin Donuts, when the the driver allegedly hit the gas instead of the brake.

The most seriously injured was sitting at the table on the side of the glass where the impact occurred.

The driver and his wife were not injured.

Police are checking to make sure the building is secure.
