The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect on Thursday.
Police say Ivan Jones was arrested at his parole meeting after someone recognized him and called authorities.
Jones allegedly met the 33-year-old victim on the subway when she asked him for directions.
Police say he followed her and then forced his way into her room, where he raped and robbed her.
