Fire burns through 2 homes in Newark

A fire burned through two homes in Newark Friday morning.

The blaze broke out on South 16th Street just after 6:15 a.m. and quickly spread to the building next door.

The fire started on the first floor and spread upstairs and through the roof.

No residents were injured.

It took about 30 minutes for firefighters to get the flames under control.
