Women have been as much as five points behind men since testing began a century ago. Scores for both men and women have been rising, but women have improved faster.
In recent years, that gap narrowed. And this year, women took the lead.
James Flynn, an authority on IQ tests, says that could be because women multi-task between raising a family and doing a job.
Or, he says, women have a higher potential intelligence than men and are only now realizing it.
