Google is offering something new for New York City straphangers.

Starting late Tuesday night, Google Maps began offering advisories for the city subway system.

The goal is to help riders skirt around scheduled transit maintenance and construction.

The alerts pop up when you click on any of the 468 subway stations on Google Maps.
