Lottery officials presented Peter Gee of Cortlandt with a check on Thursday at the Empire City Casino in Yonkers.
He drew the winning Lotto jackpot numbers on July 7 at the Riverside Deli in Croton-on-Hudson.
He said he didn't leave his house for the rest of the week until he could hand over the ticket to lottery officials.
Gee opted to take his winnings in a lump sum totaling $8.5 million.
He said he and his wife will use the money to travel.
