The officer was getting out of his car on Bruckner Boulevard at Theriot Avenue in the /*Soundview*/ section around 9 p.m. when he was approached by the two suspects, who tried to rob him.
Shots were fired between the officer and the suspects, who fled the scene.
No one was hit by the gunfire, and the officer was not seriously hurt.
The suspects are still on the loose.
