Man critically injured in Queens motorcycle accident

NEW YORK

Police say he was attempting to cross Broadway at Steinway Street when he was struck by a motorcyclist that was riding in a pack.

The victim was transported to Elmhurst Hospital.

When police arrived at the scene, three of the motorcyclists were arrested.

The rider charged with hitting the pedestrian is 30-year old Jose Salas of Queens.

Police say surveillance video confirms that Salas ran a red light.

The other two riders are charged with driving with suspended licenses.

The identity of the man who was hit has not yet been released.
