Police were called to a home on Yarnell Street Saturday night after several 911 callers reported gunshots in the area.
When officers arrived they found Douglas Martinez, lying in the front yard. He had been shot multiple times.
Martinez, 27, of 25 Burchell Boulevard in Bay Shore, was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he died from his injuries.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
