Liquor store owner injured in violent attack

SPRING VALLEY

The suspect identified as Jose Lemus didn't demand money. He didn't say anything at all.

It happened Saturday afternoon. The Spring Valley store Moskalyk and her sister have owned for six years was empty. The suspect followed her behind the counter and grabbed her throat. Moskalyk tried to get away by backing out through an opening under the counter.

Moskalyk still has bruises from the confrontation. She says at one point Lemus reached for a knife.

The 36-year old suspect fled on foot, but he was tracked down a short time outside of a nearby dry cleaners.

Lemus is facing numerous charges.
