Confrontation ends in death at Queens gas station

NEW YORK

Now, police are trying to sort out the details to determine if any criminality took place.

Police say the incident began when a 28-year-old man tried to take out money from the ATM at the Gulf Gas on Van Dam Street just after 6 a.m. and was unsuccessful. Whether there was a problem with the machine is unknown.

Somehow, a confrontation erupted between the man and at least one employee, a 27-year-old. During the fight, the man trying to take out the cash collapsed. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The 27-year-old gas station worker was being questioned.

The investigation is ongoing, but so far, no arrests have been made.
