The day care center on Hart Street cares for 115 children, ages 2 to 4 years old. The halls are decorated with colorful artwork. The classrooms are neat and orderly. But the center is about to experience a major overhaul.
As part of the early learn program, the administration for children's services is taking the contract away from the Bushwick Improvement Center, granting it to another provider.
The Bushwick United Housing Development Fund is a private, not for profit group that will bring in its own staff and teachers on October 1. Educational director Rhonda Webb will be leaving after for more than a decade. Parents say they are worried about their children having to adjust to new staff.
