Police say the man who was shot and several others broke into the home on 109th Street just after 3 a.m.
The homeowner apparently confronted and struggled with the gun-toting suspect. At some point, the weapon fired, hitting the suspect in the leg.
He was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound.
As many as two other suspects fled the scene in a beige SUV.
The homeowner was treated for minor injuries sustained in the scuffle.
