Tunnel to Towers Run honors firefighter's run on 9/11

The Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel was closed off to traffic Sunday for the "Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run-Walk".

The annual run commemmorates Siller's heroic run through the tunnel to the World Trade Center, to try to save people on 9/11.

The FDNY firefighter died during the attacks.

The Manhattan-bound tube of the tunnel was closed through 3 PM on Sunday.

The Brooklyn-bound tube was closed until 1 PM.

Motorists were advised to use alternate routes during this event.
