Thief breaks into lockers at Long Island high school

A day of celebration turned sour at a Long Island high school's homecoming.

Police are looking for the person who broke into 16 lockers in the boy's locker room Sunday at Kellenberg Memorial High School in Uniondale.

The thief swiped an undisclosed amount of money, eight cell phones and assorted accessories, and in some cases, school identification and personal papers.

The breakin happened sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Detectives ask anyone with information about this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
