Kennedy Airport employee arrested for shooting gun

NEW YORK

63 year old Robert Randell was charged with reckless endangerment. He was issued a desk appearance ticket and released.

Randell, assigned to wildlife-management duties at the airport, was trying to scare the birds away from the airport flight paths.

But he not only killed the two gulls when he fired into the air at 5 p.m. last night, but an errant shot blew out the rear window of a passing Port Authority vehicle.

The civilian Port Authority worker driving the vehicle was not injured.
